In 1968 my parents took me to stay at Doris Day's Hotel in Palo Alto before we found a house to rent in town. My 3rd cousins lived near by. The staff was dressed in Roman attire (cannot find suitable photos...think B Movie)and I scared myself silly diving off the high diving board. My dad parlayed us into a dinner at the hotel manager's home. First time I ever saw a pool house.
